Pros: Spacious two bed orchard accommodation, lovely pool and view

Pros: Brakfast was good.Service Terrible.Check out time 10:00 AM.We arrived for breakfast 8:50 AM and did not get it for I hour.Change the check out time or improve the service

Cons: Later check out for cottages where you have to drive for breakfast.10 AM ridiculous

Nice stay in Franschhoek

Pros: The winery is beautiful and offers great services, there is a lot of activities offered that you can do from the Estate. The Retreat Cottages are clean and are very spacious with a good layout. For families, the self-catering options are nice, for us it wasn’t the right fit.

Cons: The Retreat is not located at the estate but 3,5 km away from it. Our cottage was right next to the parking lot and not close to the pool or other facilities as the photos suggested. The restaurant is ok, but the food is average and service slow.

Amazing!

Pros: We loved loved our stay! Super comfortable house and wow the location on itself is just a dream. All the facilities you desire and culinary adults bringing children. Lots for everyone! The pools and views were stunning, the designs and restaurants outstanding. And the staff - simply wonderful!

Cons: We missed a comfy chill spot on the veranda of our house. We moved the inside coutch there to be able to comfortably sit outside, but that would be our only tip!

Relaxing, comfortable, pretty surroundings and child friendly.

Pros: Spacious and comfortable rooms. Great surroundings. Child friendly. Nice restaurant.

Cons: We asked to check in early to let our 2 year old son sleep in the afternoon. We never heard back and found out upon arrival that early checkin was not possible. Despite our early arrival we could only check in 15 mins later (3.15pm) because we were told staff was still preparing our engagement surprise. However there was no surprise. I asked the manager later and he mentioned that it was probably hidden so we would find it in the days to come. We never did. I asked it again on the day of departure and we were told the engagement surprise would come but it didn’t. Also upon arrival we were asked if we needed help with our luggage. Had I known we had to walk to the farthest house with all our luggage I would of course have said yes. If I would have been the staff and see a family that has waited for 1,5 hours with a child that needs to go to sleep and a wife that’s pregnant (which I mentioned at some point) I would have simply carried the luggage to the room instead of asking. I would cover all land at the back side of the apartments with grass for children to play (some lower number apartments have it already).

Fantastic stay and an amazing venue.

Pros: The room was excellent, everything was of a high quality, the beds were extremely comfortable. The showers and bathrooms were good too. We didn't use the kitchen facilities but the fridge was of a good size and it had everything you'd expect (microwave, kettle, coffee machine).

Cons: The only negative of our stay was there was a couple of minor miscommunications which negatively impacted us, we only got given one travel cot initially, so needed to request and wait for another, which was little stressful with two little ones. On another occasion, the shuttle bus took us to the wrong destination on the estate, and we had a 15 minute wait to get another shuttle bus back to the correct destination. Both things can happen, of course, and they were very apologetic on both occasions, but it probably because this estate is a big beast, handling a huge amount of guests and visitors every day, so just be aware that these kind of mishaps may happen but they were always dealt with etc.

Lovely stay with great spacious rooms

Pros: Rooms are great and very spacious. New restaurant Arum is amazing and very good breakfast.

Cons: The pool was not very clean.

Excellent, really superb, we will be back but won’t order and extra coffee at breakfast

Pros: The room, the whole estate, the staff and the Breakfast ware all great! We loved it

Cons: Being charged ZAR 80 for two extra coffees at breakfast was unnecessary and spoilt the experience a little.

Pros: Absolutly stunning accomodation & extraordinary breakfast

Pros: - beautiful rooms (werf cottages) - incredible breakfast - amazing grounds, pool etc - friendly staff - great deli

Cons: - check in was delayed and some important information was missed out at check in: not up to standard in this respect (such as wine tasing being included) - some parts of hotel were not accessible due to a wedding which we weren’t told about
