Well rested stay on a beautiful land. Nature at its best.

Pros: Breath taking views and a very peaceful stay. Loved the swim in the water Lilly mountain waiter pool and walking the labyrinth. Beautiful gardens to walk and relax. Sacred land.

Quaint, charming stay close to Franschhoek Tram

Pros: Very quaint with lots of character, especially around the gardens.

Cons: Hosts took a long time to respond. I got lost trying to find my room upon arrival and no one answered my call. I then was worried about the fires.

A little bit of heaven

Pros: We love that Gecko feels rural, but the village is still easily accessible by car or on foot. We adore the wild swimming. We love walking through the indigenous gardens too. We love the peace and quiet. We also love the noisy wildlife. A little bit of heaven. It's close enough to visit my Mom and distant enough from her cottage to respect her space and privacy, too.

Cons: We always love coming to Gecko. There is nothing we dislike.

A little bit of heaven.....

Pros: We loved the peace and quiet, the tranquillity and stillness of the gardens, the wild pond. The guinea fowl do have their noisy moments! Gecko cottage is a haven, and not so far from the village for supplies

Wish we could have had a longer stay. A wonderful experience of being with nature

Pros: Very quirky and unique. Comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean. Amazing gardens. Tranquil. Well equipped.

Cons: Could have done with a couple of solar lights when returning to the property after dark.

Beautiful spot!

Pros: The room itself was lovely. Simple and comfortable with some really beautiful artistic touches. The view, gardens and pool are absolutely gorgeous. The photos don't do it justice.

Perfect!

Pros: Everything perfect. Tranquil location with stunning views and within walking distance of all that Franschoek has to offer. Spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds and lovely bed linen. The gardens are magical. We couldn't fault Gecko cottage and if we returned to Franschoek area would 100% stay here.

Magnificent place, we will return

Pros: Fabulous location, beautiful views, peace and tranquility. Lovely natural grounds, magnificent swimming dam.

Cons: Ants and mosquitoes were a big problem. A spray for ants was supplied on our last morning and made a huge difference, but we’d already had 3 nights without one. A mosquito net would be perfect for the bed, or at least a personal insect repellent

Pros: The property in the seeting of a fynbos garden is really a GEM. As we like plants it has been like a dream for us to stay there. The little cottage is cosy and provided everything we needed. The bedroom with it's light and soothing colour scheme and comfortable mattress is wonderful.

Cons: Nothing at all !!!!
