Nice and relaxing stay in an old farm house with loads of character and history.
Pros: The home is well decorated and everything we needed was there to prepare our own food. Although close to the N2 the traffic was never noticed and we were able to get a good night's rest.
Cons: A braai area would have been a nice added feature, but given that guests are alone at the house at night it is understandable why it's not available.

Absolutely stunning stay, we would definitely recommend Rooiheuwel.
Pros: Our hostess was exceptional, friendly and accommodating. We were moved from a garden to a mountain facing room, the room was stunning, bed was very comfortable. A lot of love and attention has been put into this property. The garden is beautiful, and the patio is ideal for watching sunsets. Fredine graciously allowed us access to the kitchen facility to prepare cheese boards for our sunsets. We joined Fredine for whisky tasting, what an experience, her husband farms barley and instead of wine making she has followed her passion of whisky making. She is truly knowledgeable, and the whisky is excellent. The house is clean and neat. Villion's wine tasting is also done from the guesthouse, so we enjoyed both. They have a huge generator on site which just made transition of power outage absolutely no problem. Property is also well positioned to visit wine farms and restaurants in the area.
Cons: Only complaint we could possibly have is there is no air conditioners in the bedrooms, but we were offered a fan to remedy the problem, it was unusually hot. A bar fridge would also be an added benefit.

A stunning farmhouse with spectacular views.
Pros: The decor and view were excellent! Staff were friendly and welcoming.
Cons: There is no aircon and it was very warm within the room. The farm house is outside of Botrivier and you need to go back on the N2 to get to the town. The road leading up to the house is loose stones which wasnโt easy to navigate. At night there is no staff on the property and it feels a bit eerie and isolated. Having someone at the property maybe facilitating sundowners and having coffee, drinks and snacks available until later in the evening would be a nice touch.

If perfection was a place this might be it!
Pros: One of the most beautifully curated guest home/stays I have visited , everything was perfect . Ferdie the hostess was accommodating , responsive (we were running late) and she also did one of the most informative whiskey pairings .
Cons: That we hadn't booked for another night.

Very luxurious restored old home.
Pros: Superbly restored old house with very comfortable rooms and a great stoep area to watch the sun go down over Botrivier. Out host left us a bottle of red wine and some lovely fruits. The bathroom was a highlight, with an excellent bath and shower. We had dinner in Botrivier which is very close.
Cons: It would have been nice to have a breakfast option that could be taken on the stoep area.

A beautiful establishment in a stunning location.
Pros: Upon arrival, we were given the option to change rooms as there were more rooms vacant. The room was huge and clean. Great amenities- including good coffee and rusks. The host was responsive to all our queries and even offered to host a whiskey tasting for us at closing time, unfortunately we were not able to make it at the time, but would be interested to return for it.
