The views and river absolutely restored my soul!

Pros: Spacious 8sleeper house. Loved the Kolkol hot tub. Short travel distance from Cape Town. Close proximity to wine farms and Mountain Mill mall. Views are breathtaking, sound of the river so soothing! Bar and restaurant on the premises, very convenient. Fishing dams. Quick and friendly response from staff when something was requested, ie mop, bucket, kitchen cloths and kitchen towels

Cons: Braai chimney was not extracting the smoke, so entire house was filled with smoke when we made fire. Kids bedroom leaked when it rained. Knives not sharp enough in kitchen. No proper coffee mugs (only small little tea cups) Needs entrance mats at all doors, especially when it rains, Needs a mop and bucket in the house.

Super friendly staff. Lacking a bit in the attention to detail considering the price.

Pros: Staff fantastic and friendly all round. Scenic stay. Cosy areas and peaceful. Breakfast fantastic.

Cons: My room hadn't been swept and moped as found half a biltong stick under the bed which was disappointing to say the least. The window was drafty as it was missing screw in the handle in bedroom 1. Electricity went off in the morning for a while so the shower was cold. Very noisy even with the door closed. Would have loved some toiletries especially for the price you have to pay. No heated blanket but the blanket was sufficient. Had tried to book a table didn't receive feedback and then had a mix up with my freshly caught fish. For the price I would have expected slightly better overall experience. Not to fault the staff who were great, just more of a reflection on the standards overall.

Pros: Most BEAUTIFUL location with the best Mountain Views. Relaxing atmosphere and very friendly staff. Will definitely visit again. Beautifully appointed room and decor.

A pleasant stay which exceeded our expectations. Good value.

Pros: The location is stunning with the mountains as a backdrop. We had a deluxe room which was a nice sized room. We found the staff went out of their way to help us.

Cons: Our particular room a deluxe room was large but had the bath and shower in the room. We did not like it but some people may do.

Pros: The surrounding mountains were mind-blowingly beautiful, and the drive to the hotel was already a highlight. My room was spacious and comfortable with a lot of storage space. The food was delicious, and the view from the hotel was incredible.

Peaceful oasis

Pros: The Lodge was so peaceful. We celebrated our 30th anniversary there.

Cons: Our stay was too short

Nature was beautiful and silent. . Pity people visiting wasn't the same

Pros: The location is exquisite. The staff was attentative and willing to help

Cons: Ok our 1st day.. The day visitors were extremely loud. Kids were Screaming at the river. On our 2nd day the people booked in next door to our accommodation were up drinking, talking and laughing loudly until about 3am.. Very inconsiderate

Pros: I loved that when we had issues with the room the manager presented a fantastic solution better than we could've asked

Cons: The fact that our room was only set up for one person originally

Clean, comfortable and convenient.

Pros: Check-in was easy and I was given a choice of two rooms to stay in. My room was clean and comfortable, with a beautiful view of the mountain. The breakfast was good.

Cons: There was only a hand towel in the bathroom- very much the worse for wear - and I had to ask for a bath towel, and also for them to switch the wi-fi on.

Pros: Wonderful location with stunning views. Mountain stream running right past the property with fantastic rock pools. Comfortable and tasteful rooms and friendly staff. Really enjoyed our stay!
