Under Oaks Guesthouse

Pros: The location and views from the lodges are truly spectacular. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the on-site Pizzeria offers great food at very reasonable prices. Wish we'd stayed a couple more nights!

Cons: My only request would be some lighting between recepton and the lodges once night falls.

We would return however we would choose a different room facing the lake.

Pros: The location was lovely and there was a beautiful pool area by the lake to sit during the day or enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. Good breakfast cooked to order and charming service. Good communication with the management. It was convenient to have a restaurant on site with tasty pizzas.

Cons: We were disappointed with our room (Merlot) which was at the rear of the property and was small and dark. There was just one chair in the room and a rail to hang clothes on.

Tranquil escape among vineyards and mountains

Pros: First of all, the location is outstanding — a beautiful setting with the mountains in the background and a small dam in front, surrounded by vineyards and an orchard. The breakfast was very good. There is also a pizza place on the property, which we had visited in the past and have great memories of. The accommodation is conveniently located, not too far from Paarl and several excellent wineries.

Cons: The room felt a little on the dark side, particularly the bathroom, where there were only two small downlights. It was quite hot in Paarl during our stay, which is to be expected for this time of year, but thankfully the air conditioning worked well.

Relaxing with great service in good location

Pros: Location, service, hotel….just everything is great at this place!

Beautiful, relaxing

Pros: The rooms very spacious and clean with beautiful views. Staying on a wine farm is always a plus. The restaurant was fantastic and we enjoyed the wine tasting and charcuterie platter very much. We found the stay super relaxing.

Cons: The wifi was a bit slow, but one tries to get away from technology when staying at such a beautiful place. There wasn't always swimming towels and not enough loungers or umbrellas at the pool.

Absolutely Gorgeous

Pros: Exquisite farm with an arrival through the avenue of Oak Trees to remember forever. I absolutely loved everything about my stay. Gorgeous room. So peaceful and luxurious. Delicious breakfast every morning in their historical homestead and ate outside literally under the oak trees overlooking the paddocks and beyond every night. Amazing pizza’s and salads and friends had the pasta. Great service and kind team took care of me from the time arrived until my early departure. A gem to have found Under Oaks and look forward to being back.

Relaxing start to the holiday.

Pros: Room very comfortable and staff excellent. Views are amazing.

Cons: Lighting in bathroom very poor. Noisy adjacent neighbours can ruin the peace of sitting on your terrace. Food in pizzeria not at previous levels.

Pros: This stay was a small birthday treat to myself. Enjoyed everything in general. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I even got treated to a breakfast tray in my room on my birthday and the complimentary wine tasting was a nice surprise.

Cons: I was a little bit disappointed with the room that I stayed in (on the side of building) compared to the room that I booked (front with porch, water facing as per the pictures)
