Tranquil with beautiful views. Well worth a visit!
Pros: Located in a beautiful area, with plenty of food and drink options nearby. The cabins are clean, well looked after and spacious. Quite a few amenities are provided and Willie is happy to assist if needed. The check-in process is smooth and simple.

A room with a view
Pros: It was comfortable, neat, and had everything needed to enjoy the stay.
Cons: Finalizing the booking confirmation after the transaction via booking.com was lengthy, frustrating and not the usual easy process that we have come to expect from booking.com. Repeated calls and messages with the hosts were needed as emails were not working.

Great option for couple weekend away
Pros: Self catering apartment well stocked. Nothing fancy but simple and yet all that is needed for a short break and a view. The outside braai area was great and very relaxing as well as the communal swimming pool and lappa area. Small number of units made it feel very exclusive and not crowded.
Cons: The bed has seen better days - way too soft now so uncomfortable. The living room couches are fine for long lasting use which I suppose is the point but not the most comfortable.

Perfect for a relaxing getaway
Pros: This was a fantastic place to say. The location is truly breathtaking and exactly what I needed for a relaxing stay to disconnect and recharge. The swimming pool was perfect as it was quite warm while I was there. All the facilities were great, well equipped kitchen and the staff was very friendly.
Cons: Nothing much.

Refund needed
Pros: Good facilities. Rustic and rural. Well kitted out including patio, BBQ A/C,shared pool, internet. Good value.
Cons: All of the above negated by power cut (and internet failure) for almost all of the time we were there. (Updates using internet were therefore irrelevant.)Whilst we understand that the power cut was out of the owners control, it ruined our stay. Extending our departure time by 2 hours was pretty much a meaningless gesture. Back up generators are pretty much the norm in South African Hospitality as power cuts have been a regular occurrence. If contingency plans are not there for such circumstances the customer should not bear the cost. No lights and air-con in 33+ Centigrade ruined our stay. We shall take this up with booking .com as we have not had any communication regarding refund from the owners.

A beautiful, peaceful stay with everything you need β so good that my friends already want to plan our next trip!
Pros: We absolutely loved our stay at Big Sky. Everything was clean, tidy, and beautifully maintained. The views were immaculate, the privacy was amazing, and we had complete freedom to enjoy ourselves without any hassles. The cottages are fully kitted out with everything you might need. The pool facilities were great, communication was super easy, and the staff were friendly without ever intruding on our stay. We also appreciated that there are nearby farm stalls and restaurants, as well as a few items you can purchase directly from the property. The firewood was amazing too! We even called the owner at 1:30am because we thought there was a baboon on the roof (it was just an owl π
) β and he still answered kindly!
Cons: The only downside was the pillows, they were extremely thin. If you prefer thicker pillows, itβs best to bring your own.
