Simple but comfortable self catering accommodation in the most beautiful and quiet setting although close to Hermanus
Pros: Location- Such a tranquil quiet refuge up Hemel and Aarde valley and its many vineyards but close to Hermanus and all its attractions Comfortable rustic self contained cottages offering independence and beautiful views
Cons: Impersonal reception where never had human contact with anyone My cottage quite hot on arrival but easy to create through draft with open windows so quickly improved

Charming and comfortable place to stay in Hemel en Aarde
Pros: Really organised and easy check in with all details emailed and SMS'd to you prior to arrival. The place is incredibly serene and beautiful. Be prepared for being a bit of a distance out of Hermanus if that's a factor (but the description does show this). Well-equipped and incredibly comfortable accommodation. Really good value of money.

A hidden gem for total relaxation
Pros: This is a hidden gem (within the tranquil Hemel en Aarde Valley which in itself is a stunning place), exactly what my husband and I needed by year end. We stayed in the Old Farm Cottage, which has everything you need apart from wifi or mobile reception (this was a good thing!). The gardens are really beautiful, and the lily pond outside the chapel is a peaceful place. Very close to a number of wine farms (Creations is highly recommended) and farm shops, and 5 mins away from Hermanus (trail) parkrun.

Pros: The peace and quiet. It was just the birds that woke me up. Not the neighbours. If I weigh up all the pros and cons I will still go back to destress
Cons: WiFi was a bit limited. Only in the kitchen. I could not really open the curtains as the staff were busy working and can see onto the house. But the birds talking to each other during the day was great 😃 The wet drive way. I struggled a bit to get out on the gravel road.

Pros: We stayed in the Old Farm House residence and it was huge. Exceeded our expectations. The pictures of the property do not do it justice. It’s on a beautiful property and the rooms and house are big and cozy. We loved having a fire place and no TV. We loved being able to explore the grounds and going on mini hikes. Next time we’ll definitely go see the waterfall.
Cons: We had a water leak from the heavy rains but that was a very minor incident and the only “issue”.

Blessed.
Pros: The surroundings, the atmosphere, the beautiful attitude of the staff, Meghan the German Shepherd and Molly the ownerdog, the monks, the chapel and gardens, the wood we needed for the fire. Just everything. Even the other guests were amazing!
Cons: The fact that l had to go home.
