Another lovely visit to Hermanus

Pros: The house was very well equipped and was actually nicer than we expected from the pictures. It was also so great that we were allowed to bring our dogs and they had an enclosed garden at the back. The braai area and view of the mountain from the back garden was really nice. The location, 5mins walk to Voelklip beach was great. My daughter had a broken ankle so we needed a house with no stairs as she was using a knee scooter and this was perfect if anyone looking for a place with no steps. The drop box for the keys was so easy and good communication with the host

Cons: We were very unlucky in that they were doing building work on the house directly behind our back garden where we wanted to sit and chill and it was so noisy with drilling and banging going on all day on a Saturday and no privacy at the back. This should be done in a few months time but during the day before and after builders holiday starts (so before 16 December and after about 5 January 2026), it will be a problem until at least the end of January 2026, I'd check this before booking

Pros: Absolutely wonderful. Perfect for my husband and me, my father in law, and sister in law. Had everything we could need, AMAZING!

Cons: Guess we are used to sleeping in a super king bed so small double was a bit challenging! Other rooms to sleep in so we all worked it out in the end. Bathrooms pretty dated but functional - was one walk in one which was perfect for father-in-law who can't do steps up into anything. Dishwasher probably needs replacing as after long cycle the items were still dirty and greasy.

It was very enjoyable and we will be back.

Pros: Couldn’t recommend more! Ethan was a fantastic host and the house exceeded our expectations! It’s even better than described with gorgeous views of the mountain while you light the braai and only a few short minutes’ walk down to Voelklip beach. Quick drive to Lizettes and other fab spots around Hermanus. Quiet, well equipped and just wonderful. In addition the house was SPOTLESS. Loved it and will be back!
